Policies

The Policies on this page supersede any other policies either on registration forms or other media, effective 1/1/2025.

While we at Instruction By Masters strive to offer a low-stress learning environment, we have found that following guidelines actually enhance the experience, and to assist with that effort, we have instituted the following policies.

Pagers and Cell Phones
, You will be expected to turn off all pagers and/or cell phones during the classes. If you have an urgent need to leave these types of devices on, you are requested to place them on vibrate and to respond to them outside of the classroom. Remember, you are not the only student in the room.

Fees are only good for the course for which they are originally paid, they are not refundable. Once issued Heartcode key fees are NOT refundable and no credits will be issued

Rescheduling:
On receipt of payment a student may reschedule within 48 hours without having to pay a rescheduling fee, unless the start date for the class they have scheduled for is less than 7 days from the date of payment in which case any request for rescheduling will incur a rescheduling fee. If a student needs to reschedule with less than 7 days before the class start, there will be a $75.00 rescheduling fee. A student will be required to reschedule if they arrive at the class 1) more than 30 minutes late for an ACLS or PALS course, or 2) without a current BLS card, and are unable to perform CPR as outlined in the AHA guidelines without remediation. 3) They may also be required to reschedule if they have not completed the ACLS/PALS Pre-course Self-assessment test which can currently be found at http://www.heart.org/eccstudent The code for entrance to the website is on the bottom of the page ii of the ACLS and PALS Guidelines 2015 text book. If rescheduling is requested (see above) the new date must fall within two months of the original class date and the proper rescheduling fee paid at the time the rescheduling is requested (see above). Students wishing to reschedule beyond two months due to Major Illnesses or Family emergencies will be credited 50% of their original class fee toward another class if requested no later than 24 hours after the original class start time. Written proof may be requested at the discretion of the program coordinator. Credits are good for 6 months from the original class date

All AHA courses include a book appropriate to the course. It is the student's responsibility to obtain the proper text and or materials with adequate time to prepare prior to class. this includes CPR and First aid texts.

Testing: Students, if needed, will be allowed a second opportunity to take the written exam. if they fail the second attempt, they will need to pay a fee equal to 50% of the provider course and repeat the course. We attempt remediation of all of our students, however, we will NOT issue an AHA course completion card to anyone who does not demonstrate the minimum proficiency required by AHA in either the skills, or written testing.

HeartcodeTM ACLS ,PALS, or BLS Anywhere online Skills check
:
Any student scheduling a check off must bring their AHA certificate within the time frame required by AHA. Testing may be recorded, If the student fails another instructor will retest the student. If both instructors fail the student, the student will need to take an initial course at their own expense.

We do NOT perform check-offs for programs other than AHA
